4 Ways to Relieve Joint Pain by Using Essential Oils

Joint pain can be caused by injury, rheumatism, arthritis, or bad posture for a long time. Essential oils are widely used to relieve joint pain because it acts as an anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-seizure muscle. This essential oil works effectively when used alone or mixed with other essential oils applied to painful areas.

1. Massage a sore area using clove oil

Clove oil is a popular essential oil that functions as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, and maintains a strong constant in body temperature used to fight inflammation. Spread a little clove oil on muscles or joints that are painful to avoid skin irritation or you can dilute clove oil with coconut oil if you have sensitive skin. Add up to 12 drops of clove oil to 2 ounces of coconut oil, and massage it in a sore area. Avoid using clove oil during pregnancy and breastfeeding period.

2. Apply a mixture of essential oils

Clove oil mixed with other petroleum oils such as cinnamon, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, and geranium are also effective for reducing joint pain. Mix at least three of the essential oil with the carrier oil of your choice to make 1% dilution (6 drops of essential oil for 1 ounce of carrier oil). Apply to joint pain twice daily. You can increase the concentration to 3% (20 drops of essential oil for 1 ounce of carrier oil) or more or apply more than twice a day depending on the reaction that occurs after the use. Other combinations of essential oils for joint pain are 1 drop of black pepper oil, 1 drop of ginger oil, 2 drops of mixed vanilla, 3 drops of rosemary oil, 3 drops of coriander oil, 4 drops of marjoram oil, and 6 drops of Roman chamomile oil with 2 ounces of oil carrier. Massage this essential oil mixture in a painful area until the pain is reduced.

3. Soak the body with essential oil

Pain that involves many joints can be relieved by soaking in warm water that has been mixed with essential oils. Mix 2 drops of rosemary oil, 4 drops of juniper berry oil, 2 drops of cypress oil, 2 drops of lavender oil and 1-2 cups of salt to soak in the bath.
